Privacy Policy
What Qualian stores, where it lives, and why we never see it.
The short version. Qualian has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Everything you log stays on your iPhone and, if you leave iCloud on, in your own private iCloud storage. The developer cannot read it, and neither can anyone else. The app contains no third party SDKs of any kind.

1. Who is responsible
Qualian is made by Florin T. Pătrașcu, an independent developer, referred to below as "we" or "the developer". For data protection purposes the developer is the data controller for the (very small) processing described here.

2. What we collect
Nothing. Qualian does not collect, transmit, sell, rent or share any personal data with the developer or with any third party. There is no account to create, no email address to hand over, no telemetry, no advertising identifier and no crash reporting SDK.
This is why Qualian's App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected". It is not a marketing position, it is a structural one: the app has no networking code of its own and no server to talk to.
3. What Qualian stores, and where
Everything the app knows about you is created by you, and stays with you:

4. iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, Qualian keeps your habits in sync across your own devices using Apple's CloudKit, in a private database.
A private CloudKit database belongs to your Apple Account, not to the developer. We have no access to it, no dashboard that shows it and no means of retrieving it. Apple processes this data as described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings → your name → iCloud on your device. Qualian keeps working entirely offline, with your data local to that device.
5. Shared habits
Qualian Full lets you share a single habit with people you choose, so you can see each other's activity and how the habit felt. A few things are worth being precise about:
- Sharing is opt in and per habit. Nothing is shared unless you explicitly start a share or accept an invitation.
- Participants see entries for that habit only. Your other habits, notes and ratings stay invisible to them.
- Invitations travel through Apple's CloudKit sharing, using whatever channel you pick to send the link. The developer is not a party to the exchange.
- Participant names and Apple Account identifiers are supplied and handled by Apple, so that the app can label who did what.
- You can stop sharing, or leave a share, at any time. When you leave, the copy you no longer own stops receiving updates.
Do keep in mind the obvious: once you share a habit, the people you shared it with can see what you log there. Share with people you trust.
6. Notifications
Qualian uses Apple Push Notification service, through CloudKit, purely to learn that a shared habit changed or that an invitation is waiting. Push tokens are managed by Apple and are never sent to the developer. Notification content is generated on your device.
7. Purchases
Qualian Full is a one time in app purchase handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. The developer never sees your name, card number, billing address or Apple Account. The app only ever asks Apple a single yes or no question: is this purchase unlocked on this Apple Account. Refunds and receipts are handled by Apple, not by us.
8. Third parties
Qualian is built with Apple frameworks only and ships with zero external dependencies. There is no analytics provider, no advertising network, no attribution SDK, no A/B testing service and no crash reporter. The only third party involved in running the app is Apple, in its role as platform, iCloud provider and payment processor.
This website is hosted on Netlify, which records standard server access logs (such as IP address and browser user agent) for security and delivery. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
9. Children
Qualian is a general audience app and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal data from anyone, children included. If a child uses the app, whatever they log stays on the device and in the family's own iCloud, exactly as it would for any other user.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, PIPEDA, the CCPA or similar laws: access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection to processing.
These rights are unusually easy to exercise here, because we hold nothing. There is no database of ours to search, so an access request would return an empty result. Access and portability are satisfied directly in the app through CSV export, which is available on the free tier. Correction and deletion are done by editing or deleting entries yourself. We have never sold or shared personal information, and have no mechanism to do so.
11. Deleting your data
- Individual entries or habits: delete them in the app.
- Everything on the device: delete the app.
- The iCloud copy: Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Qualian → Delete Data.
- A share you joined: leave the share from within the habit.
Deleting the app does not automatically remove the iCloud copy, which is why the third step above is listed separately.
12. Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy changes with it and the date at the top is updated. If a future version were ever to collect anything at all, it would be announced clearly and asked for, not slipped in.
